Our Journey Over Time

Throughout our history, we have consistently expanded our planted area and milling capacity, solidifying our role as a key player in the palm oil industry. Through strategic acquisitions, rehabilitation of estates, and continuous investment in infrastructure, we have built a diverse and sustainable plantation portfolio across Indonesia. Below is an overview of our significant journey and milestones from 2004 to present.

1985

AEP was formed and floated on the London Stock Exchange.

1991

Tasik Palm Oil Mill was commissioned at 45mt/hr.

1993-1995

Genton International, a Hong Kong-based holding company, acquired a controlling stake in AEP.

2002

Bengkulu palm oil was commissioned at 45mt/hr.

2004

We acquired a neglected oil palm estate of 4,300 ha, called Bina Pitri located in the province of Riau, about 180 km south of Tasik.

2007

We acquired another neglected oil palm estate of 4,470 ha, Cahaya Pelita Andhika, of which about 1,020 ha were planted and mature. Located on the west coast of North Sumatra, about 180 km from the nearest existing group estate, Tasik.

2009

Succeeded in getting the crucial land conversion permit from the Indonesian Forestry Department in Central Kalimantan project.

2010 - 2014

We planted over 10,000 hectares of oil palm.

2020

Our Group opened a new land and planted 2,190 ha (2019: 1,757 ha) of oil palm mainly in Kalimantan and Bangka, boosting planted area including the smallholder cooperative scheme, known as Plasma, by 3% to 73,600 ha.

2021 - 2022

New lands were opened and planted with 952 ha of oil palm mainly in Kalimantan and South Sumatera.

2023 - Present

We completed construction of our seventh mill in HPP, North Sumatra. That same year, we inaugurated Indonesia's first commercial Bio CNG/biomethane plant at Blankahan Palm Oil Mill.
